A.k.a. Medieval Helpdesk. This video makes fun of moderns newbie computer users by illustrating - in a way fully understandable to them - how silly some of their questions are by creating a similar problem in the Middle Ages. It's from a show called Øystein & Meg (Øystein & I) produced by the Norwegian Broadcasting television channel (NRK) in 2001. The spoken language is Norwegian. It's written by Knut Nærum and performed by Øystein Bache and Rune Gokstad. NEWS: NRK have uploaded an official version of this video themselves - also with Eng subtitles. It is located at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQHX-SjgQvQ

The song 'Cooking by the Book' from LazyTown. ONE MILLION VIEWS! Thanks YouTubers! :) Lyrics: I'll pile on the candy, It's such a pretty sight It makes the food taste dandy But my tummy hurts all night I'll put in some ingredients But keep the rest for me I'm not just disobedient I'm careful, can't you see? It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake If the way is hazy, You gotta do the cooking by the book You know you can't be lazy Never use a messy recipe, The cake will end up crazy If you do the cooking by the book, Then you'll have a cake We gotta have it made, You know that I love cake Finally, it's time to make a cake! Making food is just like science, With tools that blend and baste And every fun appliance Gives the food a different taste! It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake If the way is hazy, You gotta do the cooking by the book You know you can't be lazy Never use a messy recipe, The cake will end up crazy If you do the cooking by the book, Then you'll have a cake We gotta have it made, You know that I love cake Finally, it's time to make a cake We gotta have it made, You know that I love cake Finally, it's time to make a - 'You gotta do the cooking by the book!' Cake!

The New York Public Library holds a wealth of unexpected sources of inspiration for artists and designers—from vintage valentines and textile patterns, to fabric samples and turn-of-the-century menus from around the world. For this online-only miniseries, "Design by the Book," the Library partnered with the leading design blog Design*Sponge to invite five New York City-based artists to sift through our collections in search of inspiration. Stay tuned for future episodes as the artists, who range from a glassblower to a letterpress printer, create unique works inspired by what they found; special guest Isaac Mizrahi will also join us to share his sources of inspiration. The artists are: Lorena Barrezueta, Rebecca Kutys, Mike Perry, John Pomp and Julia Rothman. Music by Clear Tigers. Visit www.nypl.org/research/chss/bythebook for more information.
