Short video I put together to show the beauty of this game. I have the DX10 box checked so everything you see is running under that. Anyways, this is my first fsx video and i plan to do more in the future - perhaps with more of a plot or somthing. The scenery at the beach you see is MAGA Scenery Southern Calafornia. A Very Beautiful add-on. To those wondering if carrier landings are possible in free flight, they are. Check out this link: http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2007/11/06/great-tool-for-ai-carriers-when-using-acceleration.aspx System Specs: AMD 3800 dual core, 3GB Ram, Geforce 8600GTS - graphic driver 163.69. Using Windows Vista Premium 32bit. Song: Tubthumping by Chumbawumba And thanks for watching! -------------------------------- I actually now have a job doing contract work on this game at ACES studio. http://www.Alfred.TV READ ME FIRST: Upon attending a fund raiser for a school, I won the bid for an hour in a professional flight simulator. The joke here is that the people that go to this facility are ALL professional pilots who are getting cross-trained on different planes or re-certified. And here I am, basically walking in 'off the street', and sitting at the control console of a Boeing 747. It was an absolute incredible experience. I really have a lot of respect for commercial airline pilots, since there are many activities going on in the cockpit at the same time! I'm glad I brought the video camera, so I can share a few minutes of this exciting adventure with you all. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING: One of my longest flights so far, this is a Qantas Boeing 747 flying 6,500 miles from Kingsford Smith International (YSSY) to Los Angeles International (KLAX). I started very early in the morning and got to LAX around 1:00 or so in the morning. On the way there, I reached some islands, but most was over water. I recorded it with Fraps. And unfortunately I forgot the landing lights... I have no clue why... And yes... I did actually fly all 12 hours, but I wasn't sitting at the computer all the time. I was gone most of it unless I had to record or fix my flight path. It did actually take 12 hours to fly this flight.. I don't know why I'm getting so many people asking me if it really takes that long... so yes, it does. For the clip with the "sped up 16x" I filmed the clips at real time and then later sped them up in Windows Movie Maker. And yes, I spelled Los Angeles wrong as well as put the Cruise Altitude as 34,00 Ft instead of 34,000 Ft in the beginning of the video... can't really change that now though, sorry. This is the Deluxe Edition of FSX, although it does not really effect anything because the Deluxe Edition only comes with a few more planes and missions. You can get Flight Simulator X from pretty much any electronics store like Best Buy and I think you might even be able to download it. The island, or "atoll" as it's actually called at 5:00 was just randomly recorded because I thought it looked cool. I didn't know anything about it nor did I care, but after everyone asked me about it I researched it and I found that it is most likely the atoll of Tuvalu or at least something near there. The music is "Children of the Sandstorm". Tell me if you have any other questions, and I'll most likely answer them. Enjoy! Hey everybody... I had no clue that THIS video would be the most popular of my FSX videos.. and especially that it would be one of the most popular flight simulator videos ever made... but I guess that's the way it happened... This isn't even my personal favorite, though. Here are some of my flights made after this one: Bangkok to Munich: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjZhaHE9fzw New York to Hong Kong: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QTQpCqrtmw Sydney to Singapore: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u41lOxMlqPw Washington DC to Los Angeles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoCkiLSB3b4 Toulouse to New Delhi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8ivxmpEATM And if you want to learn how to download planes (onto Windows XP), go to this vid I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Uuf3_OitR4

The fruit fly Drosophila (glued to a small hook) is flying stationarily in a small drum. It is fixed via a clamp to a device (torque meter) which measures the attempts of the fly to turn left or right (yaw torque). This yaw torque signal is used to rotate the drum around the fly.

This video advertises Orbiter, a free space flight simulator. Orbiter can be downloaded at www.orbitersim.com Created by Dr. Martin Schweiger, Orbiter is a highly detailed, realistic, and free Flight Simulator that lets you go beyond the reaches of the sky. Fly to any planet, any moon, in amazing vessels with outstanding graphics! And theres a lot of add-on downloads for it too! (my personal favorites are found at www.orbithangar.com and orbiter.dansteph.com) Sorry for the low quality, but I got a slow computer, so it's not real easy running a 3D application while using a screen video recording program at the same time.
